I have used themes as bases and just edited H2's and stuff in the past.
But I need help making a full theme.

First Off, How do I start when making a print?

Think of the design in your head, and try to create it.

Just graphics.
I have started the print a bit.
I think I am going to go with a christmas theme.
I will post a preview in 10 minutes.

Okay. :)

Make sure to make the print simple if it's your first, you don't want to discourage yourself!

Starting over isn't going to help, Complete it then post it and people will tell you how to make it better.

Well the main reason is, is that I am new to photoshop.
So I am still learning a few things and it will take me a few days to get the hang of it.

Madyy was here :D

My information will be use Layer Styles. On the H2, it will look really good, also when adding affects to the H2 lower the opacity.

Yeah, don't do everything on one layer. xD

That'd be rather difficult to do anything.

Don't worry just take a deep breathe.

File > New > xx PX by xx PX - Transparent > New Layer > New Layer > New Layer > New Layer > New Layer > Use Auto Tools to start something > Get everything going on different layers and you can click back and forth hide, and make cool effects, duplicate layers before going into major modifications of something, you'll love me later if you didn't know this.

You're only stating the obvious, so I doubt Im Pulse will "love you later" for it. :sarcastic:

I don't know. I never made a theme before, but I suggest to just keep trying. Look at other prints that people made and try to copy; even look at how to's so you can learn step by step.

Good luck :)

I think you should start with making renderless advertising signatures. :)

I have gotten very good with making signatures in PhotoShop.
But some effects and concepts are still new.
I will probably have a print finished by next saturday.

Just by glancing at your current sig. You have not gotten very good. Sorry.

When making a print decide on colors. Somewere near dark grays or light grays are safe. Just no #000 or #FFF. Then pick a secondary color. Maybe a easy on the eyes blue, red, green, ect. Then start with the bg. NEVER MAKE THE BG A GRADIENT OR NON REPEATING PATTERN. If you do. Unistall photoshop. Next, start with the H2. Make it about 3/4 the size of your print, and center it. Start with a rectangle shape, or round the corners on the top. Now, make that color a dark version of the secondary color. in layer styles, and a 1px stroke on the outside that is even darker. now, do overlay gradient, black to white, black on bottom, white on top. Set as overlay, and make it about 44% opacity. Now this is looking good but it will get better. Give it an inner glow. Make it full spread, 1 size. and set the color as white, and set it on overlay too. Now make it about 44% opacity too. Click done. CTRL+click the layer, make a new layer, select your rectangle tool, and on the new layer make a white box covering half the H2. Then CTRL+D to deselect and set the new layer too overlay, and you guessed it, somewere around 30-40% opacity. Viola! That should be a good start. Apply what you learned to the whole print. If you followed what I said. Then fantastic, you are on your way to becoming a master. If you gave up or lost interest. Then you are pathetic, and you need to sell adobe. Best of luck in the future!
