I dont care who made them or how good they're "suppose" to be. I would never pay 150$+ for head phones. That's just ridiculous.

The most I'd ever pay for headphones would be 30-40 for skull candy. And yes, 150+ for headphones is retarded. There's no way they are worth that much money.

Right...

Arrogance aside... I love music, I listen to music all day, every day and I listen to music while I sleep. I even play guitar, piano, violin and a lil drums.

Point is, 150$ for headphones is ridiculous. They aren't worth it. They're only that expensive because they are "Dr Dre" headphones. Brands, names and prices dont make them better.

You wanna waste that much money, go for it.

They're so much money because of the money they put into developing it, because of what the Headphones can do. I think you'll find you won't find one negative review.

I'm going to have to explain this: They're studio quality headphones. They'll last a lifetime if you treat them right. They are better than any gaming headset, better than any normal headset you have. You can hear the difference, but it's not a big one. Personally it's his money. Oh no, his dad's lol, so he can get them if he wants to. They're multi-purpose and who knows, he can use them in the studio if he ever gets there (although they probably have some you can rent out). I slightly agree with both of you, but if it's just for listening to music, I think it's an overpay. I mean, I spent 60 on mine, and mine got 2nd place for gaming headsets, second to the creative sound blaster arena or something. But yeah, studio grade are as high as you can go, and I guess he has a real appreciation to music.Oh and Phoenix, they're worth what they are, simple as that. They are worth it if you have a specific purpose for it.. :)

Monster is a pretty good company, actually. I use the Monster HD Cables for my PS3 which hook to the flat screen {and despite popular belief, if you have only one HD input, Monster cables can be placed into a regular input and still look REALLY nice, HD quality. You just have to change the resolution|} Courswe.. We got the Monster Cables because we mounted the TV on the wall. Anyway, ZiNc, and a few others. Most of the money, is coming just from the brand name really. An example? Go look at big brands like Khols, or some other large company like Tresemme. They want a lot for their products, and yea, sure, some of it comes from the amount of work they put into the product. Honest truth is, its just the name brand.

Skull candy, Beautiful stuff {Don't use if you work out or sweat easily though, Dad did, busted them}. It is around 20 bucks to buy a set of Skull Candy. There is another brand, JVC or something like that, they want what? 5 bucks for the same exact quailty and design? Its the name brand. You aren't just paying for the quality, but the name brand as well.

Of course, it does depend on What you are going to use them for. I have a headset for the PS3, mainly because 1) it does not need to charge like a bluetooth, 2)It has amazing quality {And it is not a big brand either. Palm tree or something.. Like.. 15 bucks. Boom mic, works for 360'sps3's, computer's, has a volume control for both the game and chat as well as a feature that allows the sound to go inward, and outword} 3) and most important, its perfect for my Gaming self.

To be honest, it is your choice. If you want them, go get them. Just because they are "High Priced" does not make them better though. Go take a look at the nice Dells... One drop and WHAM! You're kinda screwed. {Depends on model though.} Really if you take care of Anything you have, it should last pretty long. Hell, my Laptop is one of the model's that got recalled for faulty batteries... It has its glitches here and there, but it runs nice and smooth, works, and is amazing.

As said, its your choice. That's simply my constructive critisicm on the topic. And I do love music before you say "you would..Blah blah blah" I can't live without my music.

Headphones like that (with the bit that goes of your head) are just gay and look stupid. People walk around with them thinking their top shit when they just look stupid haha.

Anyway, I'd never waste that much on headphones anyway but if you're not paying then who cares? xD

I was about to point that out, What they spend like 60$ for all the technology in it, your think they would use that extra 90$ to downsize them to ear buds or something.

So I have these sweet $5 headphones laying around. They work fine.

I may look happy, but honestly dear, the only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear.

I've never really seen the Dr Dre ones, but assuming they're studio grade, I'm sure it's not just the brand name. I've seen reviews generic vs. Brand name, and of course, brand name has came on top. If you look at Sennheiser, their headphones are top-notch but can cost a lot too.

I'd like to get some of those. My friend has a few pairs of them. He has a studio at his house so he uses them for recording, mixing, ect. They work really, really good on eliminating outside noise.
