So for my english class, I have to memorize Mark Antony's speech at Julius Caesar's funeral. It totally sucks. Have you guys been forced to memorize this speech or something similar to it?

We read that last year...memorizing it was an extra credit assignment. :P Hm...I've never had to memorize anything because it's always been extra credit that I didn't want to do. xD

I use to go to a church group thing called A.W.A.N.A.S. and it was like, cubs scouts of church lol. We did stuff to get pins and badges. But we had to memorize verses from the Bible verbatim. Was fun kinda..

Til I was like 11-12 and then I started fucking around there more than taking it seriously

I'm suck at memorizing even a single sentence. It'd be a miracle if I could even memorize 3.

When I was in 3rd grade we had to make a 1 1/2 - 2 page report and then we had to recite it in front of class, completely from memory. If we screwed up, we had to sit down and try again the next day until we got it right.

Hahaha, we acted it but we were able to use our books - whats the point in memorizing an introduction to a play? :P

This topic is ironic for me as earlier today I started a Psych class and put on the little suggestions sheet that teachers give at the beginning of the term to help them 'improve' their class: "I'd like to learn, not memorize." :#

I have had to memorize the Gettysburg Address, the Preamble to the United States Constitution, the Marcus Antonius's speech at Julius Caesar's funeral, Patrick Henry's Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death Speech, FDR's first inaugural speech, and parts of the Declaration of Independence. Yes, I have Nazi English Teachers.
