I always FAIL. At least where it counts, with my imagination. Just look how active my sites are in the first place, its clear proof. And DONT tell me that I need patience. I had patience in the past, and where did it get me - COUNTLESS EMPTY FORUMS... plus they dont even play my designed games purposefully! Talk about it you may... but I doubt you can make a difference. But good luck. |

It's a love story, baby just say yes

Totally the wrong attitude to have when running a forum. |
Consider this statement my permission to convert my themes to other platforms. Please link back to http://geoffreykoester.com. Be sure to rehost all theme images on the new platform as we do not know how long they will redirect. Also some boards hosting theme/skin images may not survive the move.![]() Other Sigs Awards & Memories

Do you know how many forums just "die" because of undedicated owners? First of all, making a forum in the first place needs time and dedication. Make sure you have everything for the layout, theme, images, and ideas complete. Then, advertise EVERYWHERE you can, even places outside of your host (in this case, advertise in places outside of ZB). And once you open, don't just close or give up, or something along those lines, because you only see one or two posts being made per day. Work at it, and make sure you have members participating. You're not going to have a successful forum if no one finds any interest in your forum over the next one. Your forum, also, could be almost exactly the same as some other one, so make sure you have something that your forum offers that no other forum will ever offer. Kind of like your own "specialty". |

I lost my patience long ago, but your right. No unique perk... no real acceptance. |

Unique perk? I hardly think a boards needs to be unique just to be accepted or for that matter flourish with activity. |

That could be true and false. If someone is a person who tends to join vBulletin forums, or any other software, more than the software you use to host your board, and both the vB and ZB forum are based on the same concept, then the person would join the vBulletin community. Sometimes people just join because it's the first board they happen to run into, but that doesn't always happen. |

I took a look at the forums you were working on and I can easily see the mistakes you are making just by spending five seconds on all of them. It's very important that ALL forums contain topics prior to opening the board. Empty forums are a huge turn off to pretty much everyone who visits. Seeing a board with nothing there will only get the guests who visit to click the x and leave. People generally won't post in a forum on a board that's empty and if it's like that for most or all of the board then no one will even bother joining. If you fill your board with content then advertise it then you will have much better results then you are getting right now. You can find links to his boards by searching through the topics he posted as he advertise several of them in Outline's advertising section. Edited by Bluezone777, Tuesday, 15. February 2011, 09:25.

Hi.
|
Yeah, I agree - content is an absolute must.. even if it's not much, just don't leave it empty.
