Wow. That's excellent! I don't have anything bad to say. Only thing I might suggest is maybe lowering the opacity on the etch lines on the buttons? The get a little overpowering near the bottom. You could also try a black to transparent gradient on a low opacity setting going down the dark blue portion, just so everything isn't so flat. You've gotten really good. Great job.

I noticed that too. Am I correct to assume the text is filler? |

Er right. Looks really nice, I agree with the etch line thing the others have said and maybe lower the opacity of the gloss. |

Thanks everyone. My goal was to attempt to learn whether or not I'm capable of pulling that design off or not. @Michael: Thank you, will look into that. @Esse: Yeah haha xD @Maddy: D'aww, thank you.

Lies are not permitted on graphics you submit, Maddie. Remove "Maddie Sucks" this intant! You did a great job creating a replica of the original design from Dribble. You really do deserve all the compliments you've been getting. My only advice would be to add a fifth icon to the bottom so it's centered and lowers in opacity evenly on both sides. |

It's obviously what you can hire her for. Anyway, it looks really nice. Can't really spot any mistakes myself.

Looks good, but you should've changed the logo from Maykel Looman's to something different.

Hm, while it looks really good, there's a major issue with it: It's really not yours. The inspiration is almost exactly like your version and for that we can't really credit you for it. Most anyone can copy something exactly, but it's a designer's decisions that defines them. I'm not too worried about this because you're simply learning the styles and building muscle-memory - I used to do it too. However, I just want to make sure this doesn't become a habit and that very soon you start taking some freedom and leeway to create work that is individually your own. Also, when you're making something so close to the original piece I wouldn't showcase it since it's really not yours to showcase. All-in-all it's nothing to worry about and I'm not trying to seem like I'm worked up over it - I'm just trying to help you out for later down the road.

Light that never goes out.

Uhm, I figured i'd reply to this since it's only fair since I helped her through this. Learning to recreate something shows whether you're capable of using the same skills that another design uses to create something. Before this design, and a while back Maddie was completely incapable of doing this - and now, with the constant tries, she actually figured it out. She learned quite a bit from this design, and it's not like she's implying that she's never going to get creative. When I remade the SkinPanel theme, I showcased it with some improvements. Why? Because that's essentially just what showcasing is about. Whether it's being completely inspired or being completely creative. |

I happen to agree with that Tom, it is a perfect way to practice as Cody mentioned. A "Maddie" logo would've looked nicer tho.

I agree with both Cody and Tom Learning how to make it and then showcasing isn't that bad really. Though definitely, when you start making things yourself, it's gotta be all yours ![]() You've definitely improved from the space sign in one!
