Good Universitys?

I'm about to enter my senior year and I'm gonna aim for straight A's to help my chances at a good university. Out of state or within California my home state. I do not have a 3.0 but I have a 2.1 on average currently. I know it's not great but I try and once I'm out of high school I'm gonna enter a community college for 2-years in the honors program to raise my grades. By the time I'm out I should have a pretty good shot at a great university.

Could you guys recommend me some I may find interesting or some you find interesting. Whether it's the cultural area, learning abilities, etc, I just feel like figuring this out so I know what to aim for. I'm undecided and I'm gonna be the high school graduate, community college graduate and University Graduation. I just want to set history in my family and do the best I can in my life. Thank you guys! :#

When you wear my flower, you make it beautiful.
It all depends on your personal preferences. When I was a senior we were told to go to this website that narrowed down our choices based on answers like, do you prefer a small campus or a large one? etc. I'll try to find the link for you.

In this world you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.

I have found this link to be very useful in my search for a better school to transfer to; it may be useful for you as well.

I know off hand that California has a handful of decent schools (Caltech, Berkley, Stanford, etc). It really depends on your area of interest on where you want to go. What kind of career(s) have you been interested in lately?

Well designing but I don't know if I'll get anywhere with it or not to be honest. I do like the study of Biology.

Also depends on how much money you're willing to spend. And are you considering Ivy League? That may narrow down the choices.

*Universities :r

Anyway, I live in Europe so I wouldn't know any good American ones. However, it may be a good idea to decide on a study first, and look further from there. Make sure to do a bit of research on the study itself as well, as to what future prospect it gives, how your study-time will look (as in, will you have to do a lot of reading and such, or is it more of a study where you actively do stuff?) and how popular the study tends to be (is it so popular that there will be a lot of competition for who gets in at the universities for that study? If so, maybe consider other studies you may want to do in case your first choice isn't an option).

I live in the Midwest, so I can't be much help to you. I plan to go to Truman University. If you ever want to come down to Missouri, it's totally worth it.

I may look happy, but honestly dear, the only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear.

I live in Florida, so I wouldn't be of much help. But I hear USC and Stanford are pretty good.

This x 1000, but change Europe to Latin America.

Another thing you can look at is looking at where you have family (Aunts & uncles, grandparents, etc) and use there addresses to get in-state tuition in other states. That could broaden the number of possibilities you have.

Hi.
I'd stick with a smaller university in general - I've heard that with big colleges and universities, you're literally just a number in the crowd and there's really no personal connections at all. My brother is going to a university with less students than my high school has, and most of his teachers have already met him and know him by name.

That seems best. :#

But is it a good one or private?

I am jealous. I bet being in a class with few students must be awesome, so yeah, you should definitely look into this option.

Just because you share a course with 150 other students, doesn't mean that you can't get to know your professor or that your professor is going to ignore you if you go to them. My two general biology courses had ~170 students in them and I still managed to get to know my professor (granted, I did have him for both Gen. Bio I & II). You still need to put in the effort though, for instance, I never got to know either of my chemistry professors since I never tried to (not to mention that I thought both of them were idiots and undeserving to teach us :P ).

Smaller does seem better however. More chances of one on one.

Something else that you should keep in mind is that at bigger universities, only the intro courses are extremely bloated. I remember a professor telling me that one of our higher level bio courses averages around only 7 students per semester.

That is good then and I may go to University if I do a HND after a college course. :D The tuition fees are an issue but it depends how many years the university course is. :D Its been a while since I last looked.
