We have all experienced awkward moments in our lives. Why not post 'em here?

When I was 5, I was in a store with my mom and I was looking at some toys while she went some other aisle to see something else. I go down a few aisles and notice a woman with the same shirt and the same long hair as my mom so I just stand next to her. For a few minutes. I'm standing there and the lady doesn't notice me. She starts walking and I'm just following her. The lady turns around and notices me and I realize I have been following the wrong person this whole time.

Awkward...

Awkward...
Reminds me of every time I've ever called a teacher 'mom'. -_-

I'll try and think of some lol.

I think I've done something similar to that...quite awkward...I'll have to think of some.

Oh...and this thread seemed sorta awkward in Fun & Games, so I moved it

Definitely had some of those.

The worst one was probably my first day of work. I did not know my boss' name or appearance, when I met him I took him to be his assistant, made an ass of myself.

when i didn't know how to pronounce Grand Prix when i was 7 or 8 in a toy store, i read a sign out loud which had 'grand prix' in it. boring i know but that is to date the only time i swore XD

making new friends, i'll tell them i'm engaged followed a few times with "what's his name?" ....... "erm, Ella"

accidentally jumping in front of somebody waiting to be served, i've done that twice recently. and sitting at the traffic lights and not noticing they're changed to green is a common one XD

I also once called a teacher dad or mom. Was awkward yeah.

I also once got lost in a place, can't remember. And I was looking for my dad. After a while I saw a man that looked like him, hugged him and said I was glad to have found him. Turns out he wasn't my dad... Was kinda gross as well. xD

I remember once I was in a pet store with my mum, getting something for my cat. I was 16. When my mum checked out, the cashier asked her if I wanted a colouring picture. He thought I was like 7. So my mum told him "No thank you, he gets enough homework in high school. He doesn't need a colouring picture."

The face of the dude was priceless. He must've felt really awkward. :P

When someone says something to someone else (sometimes even on the phone), and I say something or laugh in response, thinking that whatever they had said was directed to me. OH GODDDD.

Light that never goes out.
Well, my cousin's obsessed with this one celebrity and she was showing pictures of him to everyone - talking about how she'd love to marry him - on the bus back home. (This was like, 2 years back? I think) This kid we all know comes out from the back, looks at her phone and says, "Is that your cousin?".

You get the idea. Not really hilarious compared to some of the stuff that happens today, but at the time, I couldn't help but laugh.

This. Happens to me all the time in school. What's worse is when I think a girl is approaching me when she was talking to the person right behind me. FML :'(

I did something like that. When I was little my mom would pick me up from elementary school, and I remember one day I ran to her and hugged her leg and said, "Hey Mom!" and looked up to see this stranger grinning. She said, "Mom?"

I turned and ran.

Awkward moments happen to me all the time because I tell people exactly how I see it. My flatmates last year would ask me stuff and I'd tell them straight up and it wasn't the answer they wanted to hear. They respect me because I'm honest though. :)

Also, when I first started out at my job I got told to do something by a chap called (nicknamed) 'Breaders'. I thought this was a nickname for 'Bradley' so told my boss "Bradley told me to". Boss just went: "errm, there's no-one called Bradley." Shit. Now I look like I'm making people up.
