Outline Interns D E S I G N E RS & C O D E R S What are interns? To start it off, I'll talk a little bit about what our 'hand-picked' intern process is like, and how the 'applicant' intern process (what this topic is about) differs from the hand-picked one. The hand-picked intern system is the one we've had for a long time where we promote active and contributing members of the community in to the intern group to give them a chance to prove themselves worthy in a position of moderation. Once we feel they can handle the daily tasks of a staff member we will promote them to the Staff group and then that's about it. However, this application system varies just a little bit. First of all, you don't need to be active in the community prior to your application in to our group to be accepted. We're trying to reach outside of our own community and grab the best designers and coders out there - or train them ourselves. What I mean with the 'train them ourselves' portion of that sentence is that you don't necessarily need to have a whole lot of design experience when you join. However, we're not going to be teaching you one-on-one constantly and you'll need to show three major things: 1) Interest in designing/coding 2) Potential by supplying your own attempts at designing/coding 3) An independent work-ethic. We'll be here to help you, but you need to be able to take initiative on your own and have some independence. We will be providing short-term and long-term goals for accepted interns to be guided by. Intern Timeline:
Why should I work at Outline?
So finally, please PM this application form to Cody :
Good luck, remember that you need no prior activity but your activity during the application-reviewing process will be highly influential here! Please realize this will be a moderately bearing task for all involved so do not apply if you won't be active for the entire time and for a while to come after that. Cody Outline Administration |

Consider this statement my permission to convert my themes to other platforms. Please link back to http://geoffreykoester.com. Be sure to rehost all theme images on the new platform as we do not know how long they will redirect. Also some boards hosting theme/skin images may not survive the move.![]() Other Sigs Awards & Memories

I realize this may not be the best timing, so the applications will be up for a month or so. We may begin accepting interns before the applications close, but people will still have the chance to get in to a second batch if we have one.

With coding, are you aiming for JS/modification coders, CSS Coders or both? Also, what level are you expecting? I know you'll be helping people develop their skills, but are you looking for people who can code full themes/big codes, or for people that are eager to learn but still in the very basic stage (not able to produce anything worth mentioning)? Either will do - each will have different tasks expected of them. However, know that we do not have any modification coders currently on our team and help in that department would be limited (so you chances of getting in with little experience are less). Right now, you should be able to know some basic things to just show us that you're interested and you've taken some initiative on your own. By the end of the intern period, you'd be expected to know how to code a complete theme or create a fairly moderate code. If you've done any kind of experiment coding, it'd be worth including that in your application to show us you've taken the first step. |

I'm currently in the process of learning JS, and will be dedicating the coming 2 weeks to learning as much as I can. I have to start from scratch though, do you think it'd be worth applying? |
