Level 4 Posts: 247 Group: Member Member #2,834 Joined: Feb 22, 2009	I'm a african american 16 year old 5'9, I played jv basketball in the 9th, I'm going the 11th and I haven't had a girl since the 7th grade. Any suggestions?

If you want just a general girlfriend, it's not going to work. You should try to find someone specific in your mind, and then just make friends with them. If it works out, it works out. Being in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship is no good. It should be genuine, or not at all.

I mean, they say that you should let love find you, but it doesn't always work like that. A relationship should be real, and you shouldn't force your way into it. Hence why it's called 'falling' in love. I understand you're not necessarily talking about love, but if you're looking for a girlfriend I'm pretty sure you should end up loving her. xD Like Cody said; relax, be yourself and it should be a breeze. I also don't have a girlfriend, never got into relationships, one major reason is that I am in highlight all the time, and that is one obstacle(I mean if you get too much popular, then also it becomes a barrier) So, as Cody said, you must take time, and I think you should make an image of the perfect partner in your mind. As no one can be perfect in real, you can judge a girl by matching your choices withe the ideal image, make friends with her, make her feel comfortable, Let the LOVE come in between you and her, also it will take some time. But don't rush, because bad Girlfriends do take your time away Also, more comments from other users will be helpful for me too

Girls love seeing guys that are confident in themselves - that includes your appearance, the way you act, the emotions you display, and how personable you are. Personally, I don't think it matters if the girl comes to you or you go to the girl. The best thing to do is to be yourself - and if you're a sweet, friendly guy, the girls will come to you. You have to have the right mentality though. You'll never get anyone if you're just a bump on a log with no confidence. You should be happy with yourself, that's the bottom line. If you yourself aren't happy, then how are you going to make your girl happy? When it comes to confidence, you almost have to feel like you're just as good as anybody else. No girls is too good for you, you can get any girl you'd like if you've got a good personality and play your cards right. Just don't get overconfident.. because then it becomes arrogance.
