I am pretty sure disease and greed have killed far more then religion has. Let's just ignore every war the US has fought that had nothing to do with religion from the revolutionary war to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let's also ignore the 1918 flu and the Black death of the 14th century that killed millions of people. Let's also ignore all the people who got themselves killed for freedom and equality.

Do you really want to know what kills the most people even more then disease and greed? It's hate because it has no gender, sexual orientation, race, creed, or other preference as it will infect anyone it can infect. Once you are filled with hate, you start rationalizing violence, murder, theft, disrespect, etc. as being okay and acceptable.

Let's not get into history when we don't know the roots of of why those things happened, lol. You can list some major titles and dates from wikipedia and tell me about a flu but you can't tell me about disease in itself.

Does it matter how or why the influenza epidemic claimed so many? Bluezone's point is that more people have been killed by illness and disease than because of any religious war.

Again, Soul, I don't blame religion for the poor choices that people made. As I said before, it's true that religion has been used as an excuse to do terrible things, but only because bad people manipulated it to justify their actions. If religion hadn't been there, they would have simply found a different justification.

You know you're talking to a ex-die hard christian right? Someone who's traveled on missionaries, who's preached this religion 24/7, and knew it was a bunch of bullshit the entire time but kept lying to myself out of the "fear of god". All religion is created by the same person. Do some deep thorough research before starting topics about the beauty of religion and you won't have to deal with people like me lol.

By the way, I'm the nicest guy in the world, i have LOVE FOR EVERYONE. I just get enough sugar from my fruits to feel the need to sprinkle it on my coats.

I didn't start this topic to discuss the beauty of religion. I find religion beautiful, I don't expect everyone to agree. I started this topic to discuss religion, respectfully, and because I was curious to know if anyone had ever researched an unfamiliar religion, like I'm doing now.

The point is, there is no such thing as illness or disease, you just don't get it. Lol.

And good, you found someone who has researched all of them and personally experienced a few. This is my opinion, though, it's not opinion, its universal knowledge. All depends on when you come around to enlightenment and find the truth as well.

You wanna research something, look up the Vatican and the Pope, the ruler of this planet, the creator of all those religions you're so interested in. Try not to get scared when you see the devil in his eyes.

If I wanted to, I could spend a good amount of time typing up some hidden knowledge and drop some jewels but I see no point. Let's just put it simply, the word Religion means "Study of the Stars". Pastor means "One who teaches Study of the Stars or Astrology". PASTOR, Remove the P, switch the O & R, you have ASTRO. English is the last language on the planet and it is made by mashing all other languages together and flipping definitions around. You don't even know what you're saying when you speak because burned the dictionaries of English etymologies and gave you Webster's Dictionary, written by the Vatican.

Okay I'm done. :)

Sounds like quite the conspiracy theory to me. But we're all entitled to our own opinions. :r

Anyway, I'm becoming more and more interested as I finish The Tao of Pooh, but it is really just a basic skim over all of the concepts. I'd like to find a better source the next time I go to the bookstore.

Yes, I'm well aware of the indoctrination of the "normal" societal mind process.

Winter is coming.
I'm enjoying the debate, but in order for topics like this to stay healthy everyone has to both defend their opinion and refute their opponent's while still respecting it. And to respect one's opinion, that means you can't laugh at it, belittle it with a stereotypical label, or even shoot it down completely. There's no point in even beginning this if you're not willing to both give and take from the debate. You don't have to share another person's opinion, but at least respect its possible validity. Otherwise this is a complete waste of time for everyone involved.

Anyone willing to oblige me with what I mentioned is welcome to carry on with this debate.

I've looked into a lot of religions, but none of them are so silly as Christianity. The idea of a god who lives outside of time, is omniscient, AND gives you free-will is laughable. It's not possible - what you get is the illusion of free-will.

And Satan? Really? An all-powerful being who can triumph over all controversy, but has this little prick that messes with people? Sounds like God needed a scapegoat for all the bad shit that happens on the planet.
I am not a big fan of religions so I can see why you see them as so foolish because they are. They are much like clothes in the way they cover up that which we don't want others to see such as certain parts of the body as far as clothes go or in our lack of answers in terms of religion and are styled and shaped to fit us while trying to appear like we are the ones who are shaped to fit into them and not the other way around.

Time is an illusion as it really doesn't exist. The only time that exists is the present and that is where we have and will always spend our entire existence in. We only made it so we could bring order to life as without it there would be no way to bring any structure to life itself.

Of course a God who built the foundation to all that life stands on will be one w ho knows everything about that which he built Himself. It is much like a person who builds a computer would know all in regards to what he built because if he didn't know everything about it could not have built it.

Satan to me is the face of evil much like God is the face of good. A being who is good does not kill and destroy as only evil does that. If a being embodied with good kills and destroys evil then he becomes evil and without good in his heart becomes lost in darkness.

Our entire life is built upon choices we make. How we look, how we act, who we share our lives with and every other aspect of our existence is defined by the choices we make. There is no such thing as not having a choice as it is those who claim to not have choice have in fact made a choice which is to freely give away their choice to someone or something else.

Besides if God destroyed evil and assuming its destruction is not an act of evil itself. How could we be given free will if an important aspect of free will begins with whether you embrace good or evil. Everything else we choose for ourselves begins and ends with whether we do it in the name of good or evil. You won't find a good man pushing illegal drugs upon children or an evil man fighting for world peace. Every time you think you are seeing an example of one or the other is just you being mislead into believing good can do evil and evil can do good. You are either one way or the other. There is no middle ground when it comes to whether one is good or evil.

In any case, I figured someone needed to revive this thread after all the silliness got removed earlier so I think this will suffice.
