All we know is that the calendar ended on that date. It's a completely different prediction that you're talking about (that uses the Mayan calendar as a base).

What is predicted with that date is that- The major reason why the calendar ended was that, The Mayans were not able to calculate the life of the Sun. And this is the major reason(according to Historians) why they stopped. It's not. The mayan calendar ended because their mathematical system was based off of an imperfect system of numbers (not 1,2,3, and so on). They couldn't count any higher, past a certain point. He was just one of many that will come and go in what was described in the bible as the end days. I like to believe nothing will happen but I can't exactly say I felt that was the case. It doesn't mean it will all end but I think we are about to see a massive change soon as things just can't keep going as they are. Hasn't anyone else noticed all the greed, selfishness, hatred, seemingly random acts of violence, extreme weather and so forth and not wondered what was driving all of it? I found this channel on Youtube and they provide an interesting look at just how crazy the weather and the world has been lately. Some only cover the events of a single month which is makes it so shocking in my view.
